The 3rd International Conference on Literacy and Contemporary Society was organized by the Cyprus Pedagogical Institute, Ministry of Education and Culture, Cyprus, in collaboration with the University of Cyprus. The conference was held on 11-12 October 2019 and shed light on the complex interrelation between identities, texts and institutions and provided a dynamic platform where different aspects of identities, texts and institutions will be discussed.The conference addresses teachers, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students, academics, researchers, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), as well as other stakeholders interested in the promotion of language and literacy, as well as literacy education.
During the conference, partners and teacher collaborators have presented part of DRC with titles “Digital, Responsible Citizenship (DRC) Heroes: An innovative gamified application for young learners and “Multimodality, digital and language literacy for the development of oral and written language” in support of IO4 and IO6 respectively.
